Ernest Henry underground mine 

In December 2009, Xstrata Copper announced the approval of a US$542 million investment to extend the life of our Ernest Henry mine in north Queensland, Australia to at least 2025 through the transformation of open pit mining operations to a major underground mine together with the construction of an associated magnetite extraction plant. The images below capture the progress of construction works at the site.
